Jerrod, Katherine & Campbell: Labor Day Weekend '07

For Labor Day Weekend, a lot of Kat's family came into town to enjoy a long weekend in Galveston. Some came from as far as Baltimore, Maryland and the Big Apple! There were no formal plans or agendas - just a relaxing weekend together.

Grandot (Kat's Grandmother) made it known that she wanted to go to the Strand to La King's Confectionery , an old fashioned Candy Factory and Soda Shop, for a Chocolate Ice Cream Soda. So, as soon as we had a moment free on Saturday, we headed down to the Strand. Grandot loved the treat so much, that she headed back on Sunday for another!

Below is Grandot enjoying her Chocolate Ice Cream Soda! I actually didn't realize that the real Chocolate Ice Cream Sodas do not use Chocolate Ice Cream, but Vanilla Ice Cream with Chocolate Soda....interesting!)

Jerrod and Lizzy joined in on the fun getting a Root Beer Float and an another Chocolate Ice Cream Soda - it was Jerrod's 1st Ice Cream Soda ever!

As Renae's Birthday had passed just a few days before, Kat baked a Sock-It-To-Me cake and we all celebrated Renae's Birthday together.

Another family favorite (and regular request) is Deviled Eggs. And, Jerrod was put in charge of filling the request. They were such a hit, he had to make another round the next day!
