Seattle

Although our most exciting venture of the summer was our trip to Spain, unfortunately we haven't finished our Spain update for the blog yet. BUT, we did have an awesome trip to Seattle to visit one of our favorite couple friends, who used to live in Houston, Rob & Rachel. We were so sad to see them leave last Summer and head to Seattle, but were excited about the idea of visiting them and sight-seeing in Seattle. So, we packed up our stuff and headed to Seattle for a long weekend. Rob & Rachel had lots of fun items on our itinerary. Here is just a sample of some of the exciting things we did: visited the famous Pike's Place Market, saw the Seattle Underground, drank many a cups of coffee (last we counted it was at least 6 coffee shops!) and shopped at REI's headquarters. Here are some pictures below of our great trip to Seattle.

Dinner with R&R at a great Italian restaurant called 'The Pink Door.' There's no sign to the restaurant, just a pink door. Great pick Rob!

Rob & Rachel at the Macrena Bakery for a quick snack. We went all the ways to Queen's Place to have the Sour Cherry Coffee Cake, just to find out they were sold out. So, we had to opt for some other tasty goodies: Lemon Pie and Red Velvet Cake.

The beautiful Seattle skyline from West Seattle.

Another view of the beautiful Skyline.

We visted the ORIGINAL Starbucks at Pike Place Market. We didn't get any coffee there, as it was complete and total chaos, but it was very cool to see the place where it all started for Starbucks.

The famous Pike Place Fish Market, where they "throw the fish." We didn't get to see any throwing of the fish, as no one purchased any fish while we were there, but there was certainly a huge crowd waiting for anyone to purchase fish!

The beautiful fresh produce at Pike Place Market.

More gorgeous produce! Why can't we get this in Houston??

Amazing fresh seafood for sell.

More seafood for sell.

Flowers for sell at Pike Place. We were blown away by the variety of arrangements for sale. The arrangements in this photo ranged from $10 to $15. An equal arrangement in Houston goes for $75 - $100. Kitty was completely blown away and jealous.

It was so much fun seeing you guys a couple weeks ago. If your camera didn't run out of batteries, you'd have a great photo of Snoqualmie Falls too! I am very much looking forward to visiting you guys in Houston next year. I want to see what you did to your house and get good tips on what to do with our old house.
